Our Liquid African Black Soap is made from imported raw African Black Soap.  We minimally process the soap to convert it to liquid soap.  The result?  A pure, authentic African Black Soap in a convenient form, ready to add to your skincare routine.

Black Soap is made from locally harvested cocoa pod ash, coconut oil, palm kernel oil and shea butter in Northern and Western Africa.  It is different than contemporary typical bar soaps in that the oils and butters in the soap are converted to soap via the naturally produced potassium hydroxide in the ash.  The result is a soft and crumbly textured soap.  The natural raw ingredients impart a warm smokey, very natural scent to the soap.  It lathers beautifully and is perfect for giving skin a deep clean.  Black soap has been credited with being wonderful for oily skin.
